Smooth’ie your skin!

Here at Bloomskincare we love our food, especially smoothie. Hope so do you. Have you ever think that you can combine your food and skincare? The food you eat is just as vital as the toners and moisturizers that lay in your bathroom shelf or on your dressing table.

What you consume can significantly affect the health of your skin. Eat the correct balance of foods and you’ll feed your skin the vital nutrients it needs to help it stay soft, glowing and blemish-free.

Next we will talk about ingredients that are very important for the skins health.

Beta-carotene is an antioxidants found in plants, important for normal skin cell development and healthy skin tone.
It can be converted into vitamin A in the body, and it’s found in orange and dark-green vegetables such as carrots, spinach and sweet potatoes. Carotenoids like beta-carotene help keep your skin healthy by acting as a natural sunblock.

Vitamin C is also a super antioxidant. It is needed for a strong immune system, radiant skin and helps blemishes heal properly. The best sources are blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries. They all help to create collagen, which is the main structural protein that keeps your skin strong and healthy.

Vitamin E protects skin from oxidative (cell) damage and supports healthy skin growth. Foods high in vitamin E include almonds, avocado, hazelnuts, pine nuts and sunflower and corn oils. Interesting fact – vitamin E seems to be even more effective when it’s combined with vitamin C.

It’s time to shake up your beauty routine—literally. We want to share with you a recipe of one of our favourite smoothies to nourish your skin from inside.
