The New year means a new start, new plans and new you!  Thinking of starting the year healthy and clean??  We are sharing with you all our favourite detox cocktails to help you on your way to healthier skin. Just in time after all the food and drink sins you might have committed during the festive season and to try and help you keep that promise about a healthier lifestyle.

We recommend you detox your body before going on diet as toxins can stop all these goodies from absorption (vitamins, minerals) and baddies (fat) from melting down. Whether you’re trying to lose weight or you simply want to look and feel healthier, one of the best ways to cleanse your body is to drink water.  But let’s face it, water can be so bleak and boring. In fact you can upgrade plain water  by adding things like fruits, herbs, berries and vegetables. Not only do these add-ins taste fabulous, they have fabulous beneficial properties for your body. These healthy drinks will help you to regulate digestion, to hydrate your body & help make your skin clear and radiant!

You don’t have to drink just plain water, in fact, there are a number of things that you can add to your water that will not only boost the taste, they will also help flush out those harmful toxins from your body. Detox waters have also become very popular and there are so many different recipes that you can make. We’ve collected many recipes that have the best taste and health benefits, and we are sharing a few to help inspire you. These healthy detox cocktails contain ingredients like lemon, which helps to flush harmful toxins from your body, mint which aids in digestion, cucumber which contains anti-inflammatory properties and ginger which is a natural pain reliever and aids in digestion.

The best thing about these detox cocktails is that they are very easy & simple to make and you can adapt the recipes to your personal taste by adding or removing ingredients you don’t like.
Jazz up your water!


–  1 Litre of water
–  A handful of fresh mint
–  4 Limes, juiced
–  Honey
–  Ice cubes

In a jug mix mint, lime juice, honey,  and then add 2 whole juiced limes with skin a little of water. Blend it a bit and add rest of water and plenty of ice. Decorate with lime slices and mint leaves.

BENEFITS:  Great detox cocktail. Mint contains calcium,  iron, carotene, vitamin C, phosphorus
vitamin B3, vitamin B12, vitamin A. Lime  improves digestion, urinary disorders, constipation, weight loss. Honey cleanse the blood, natural antiseptic.

– 1 Litre Water
– A Handful Strawberries
– 2 Cups Watermelon
– 3 Sprigs Rosemary
– Ice cubes

First put some watermelon to the freezer to make watermelon ice cubes. Remaining watermelon blend with strawberries and water.
Add the rosemary, twisting the sprigs to release their oils. Serve with watermelon and normal ice cubes.

Watermelon and strawberries will hydrate and cleanse your body and skin as they both are powerfull antioxidants. Rosemary helps to improve blood circulation and boost your immune system. It is an amazing source of calcium, iron, and vitamin B6.


– 2 Litres of Water
– 1 Lime
– 1 Lemon
– 1 Grapefruit
– 1 Orange
– 1/2 Cucumber
– A bunch of Rosemary
– A handful of Mint
– Ice cubes

Cut half of all the citrus fruits and cucumber into thin slices and mix in a large glass jug. Juice the other half of ingredients, add herbs and water and ice cubes. Optionally you can cool the drink in the fridge for a few hours.

BENEFITS: Vitamin C helps to clear out the digestive system. Lime and Lemon improves digestion, gums disorders, constipation, promoting a weight loss. Cucumber rehydrates your skin, helping with puffiness, reduces cholesterol and aids blood pressure control.
